Pakistan, our beloved homeland, stands out globally for its diverse geological structures. Its geography encompasses a variety of landscapes including plains, deserts, forests, hills, plateaus, coastal areas along the Arabian Sea, and the majestic mountains of the Karakoram Range in the north. The country boasts verdant and arid mountains rich in minerals, fertile lands for agriculture, and some of the world’s most stunning waterfalls. Geologically, Pakistan spans the Eurasian, Iranian, and Indian tectonic plates.

However, despite its immense natural potential, Pakistan is facing increasingly critical environmental challenges. Since 1990, environmental degradation has become a pressing issue, marked by damage to terrestrial ecosystems, depletion of natural resources, deforestation, desertification, soil erosion, land degradation, waterlogging, and resultant widespread pollution. These factors pose significant threats to human populations as well as a diverse range of animal and plant species.

Experts estimate that environmental degradation may cost Pakistan’s economy over Rs. 365 billion annually. Of this, inadequate water supply, sanitation, and hygiene account for Rs. 112 billion, agricultural soil degradation Rs. 70 billion, indoor pollution Rs. 67 billion, urban air pollution Rs. 65 billion, lead exposure Rs. 45 billion, and land degradation and deforestation Rs. 6 billion. Some environmental experts believe the cost has now exceeded Rs. 450 billion.

The Pakistani nation has repeatedly demonstrated its potential as enthusiastic and patriotic citizens. However, over time, our society has fragmented into various sects, backgrounds, languages, ethnicities, politics, and faiths. This intolerance has led to social differentiation and disharmony, undermining the unity of the Pakistani nation.

Green Living Pakistan is a non-governmental, non-profit and not-for-funding (self-relined) organization working to expand Environmental Education in Pakistan. We are working since 2007 with a spirit to develop Pakistani nation as a unified, patriotic and environment-friendly citizens. Most Services Educational Institutes are our Green Partners (regular participants).

Green Living Pakistan aims to strengthen Pakistani students and their families as a patriotic and unified nation to successfully address the core environmental and societal challenges facing our beloved homeland. Our colourful and creative activities focus not only on making Pakistan greener and cleaner but also on fostering patriotism, pride in being Pakistani, and a collective will to work together for a national cause.

In keeping with our noble objectives, Green Living Pakistan firmly declines any funding or donations from local or external sources to simply focus on the objectives defending our national interests. Our remarkable achievements since 2007 are entirely dedicated to our internal fund management and strict expense controls, without accepting a single rupee from outside the organization.

By participating in our green activities, students and their families learn about the critical environmental challenges facing our beloved homeland and the planet. They brainstorm the best initiatives to address these issues as a unified and patriotic nation. Our projects and activities offer fundamental environmental and social concepts, highlighting how human activity has led to environmental degradation and how focused, unified action can effectively address this and other societal challenges. The inspiration developed among participants has the potential to significantly impact the lives of young Green Ambassadors and their families.

Let’s join hands in making our beloved homeland Cleaner, Greener, and Stronger.
