Climate Defenders – The Premiere Green Activity 2025

We are pleased to invite the valued schools in Pakistan to actively take part in Climate Defenders this year’s premiere green activity in the concluding round of great energy transformation. At a time when devastating floods, intensified monsoon patterns, and cloudbursts remind us of the urgent need for sustainable action, this activity offers students and families not only cutting-edge climate change education but also the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a greener future. The activity contains practical and long-lasting solutions to the critical climatic issues facing Pakistan. This could be the right climatic education at the right time when young green ambassadors are making their basis to the career that could be a wonderful opportunity to make their positions in the overwhelmingly greener industries and economies of future.

The Pakistani nation is surprisingly witnessing a pressing reality—the alarming rise of floods, urban flooding and cloud bursts. Though they appear sudden, these disasters are in fact the predictable results of decades of human neglect toward climate change. As early as the 1990s, the IPCC and global scientific bodies warned of such extreme events, yet denial, delay, and unsustainable development have brought us to this point of crisis.

What makes this tragedy even more painful is that Pakistan, despite contributing less than 1% to global greenhouse gas emissions and being among the pioneers in the global green energy transition, is facing some of the severest impacts of climate change. The floods, cloud bursts, and extreme weather hitting our cities are not mere natural occurrences but the outcome of a destabilized climate system—fueled largely by global negligence.

Although Pakistan bears a climate disaster far greater than its share of global emissions, it is also rising as a nation of green energy transformation. These challenges, though devastating, present a powerful opportunity to learn how to stand resilient against natural calamities. In this context, Climate Defenders emerges as the most impactful educational activity—equipping students and their families with a strong foundation in the fundamentals of climate change, while also empowering young minds to lay the groundwork for their future careers in the global economies of tomorrow, which will be defined by sustainability and green innovation.

If you are already our Green Partner Educational Institute, our programme team will automatically invite you to join. Otherwise please contact through the contact page or send us an email with your willingness to join. We will send you an invitation to join.

As part of your dynamic green association, we’ve set an ambitious yet achievable milestone: by 2027, Pakistan aims to generate 60% of its energy from grassroots-level green sources — a remarkable feat on the global stage. Looking ahead, our national target is to reach 90% green energy generation by 2032, harnessing powerful renewables like wind and ocean wave energy.

‘Climate Defenders’ offers Practical and Immediate Solutions

In an era when devastating floods, intensified monsoons, and sudden cloudbursts underscore the urgent need for sustainable action, this activity shines as a beacon of hope. It equips students and families with world-class climate change education, while also guiding society and policymakers with innovative, effective solutions to safeguard our homeland from climate threats.

Along with delivering comprehensive education on the causes and impacts of climate change, the activity also equips middle to secondary level students with advanced mitigation strategies, including:

Mountain Areas

  • Modern Forecasting Systems: Community Training
  • Protect Forests and Watersheds

Urban Areas

  • Efficient Drainage Systems
  • Water Reservoirs and Lakes
  • Green Urban Planning

Disaster Preparedness

  1. During Floods
  2. During Heatwaves
  3. During Storms or Cloudbursts

Flood-Management Using Natural Sand Base of the Indus

  1. Natural Sand as a Buffer
  2. Reinforcing Natural Levees (Soft Engineering Approach)
  3. Controlled Sediment Deposition
  4. Avoiding Harmful Sand Extraction
  5. Integrated, Holistic Planning

Using Thermal Technology to Locate Displaced People in Floods

In times of devastating floods, when communication lines are disrupted and visibility is poor, modern technology becomes a lifeline. Thermal imaging technology—mounted on drones, helicopters, or even handheld devices—can play a crucial role in locating displaced people.

The Dilemma of Climate Change

For over a century, the world has relied heavily on fossil fuels—coal, oil, and natural gas—to power industries, transportation, and households. While these energy sources have driven economic growth, they have also left behind a trail of environmental destruction. Air pollution, acid rain, oil spills, and rising global temperatures are just some of the devastating consequences of fossil fuel dependence. Today, we stand at a critical juncture where the damage is undeniable: glaciers are melting, forests are burning, and extreme weather events are becoming more frequent. The need for a rapid transition to clean, renewable energy has never been more urgent.

The Direction Humanity Must Take Against Climate Change

The dilemma of climate change is not just an environmental issue—it is a defining challenge for humanity. To overcome it, humans must seek a direction that is rooted in sustainability, responsibility, and innovation. This means shifting away from fossil fuels to renewable energy, adopting climate-smart agriculture, protecting forests and water resources, and reducing waste through circular economy practices.

Equally important is fostering climate education and awareness, empowering individuals—especially the younger generation—to make informed choices. By uniting science, technology, policy, and community action, humanity can build resilience against climate threats while ensuring fair and just development.

The right direction is clear: a future where human progress is in harmony with nature, and where global economies thrive not at the cost of the planet, but by safeguarding it for generations to come.
